Monday's episode of Bones and Wednesday's Suburgatory had an obnoxious level of ad placement going on. Bones had its usual discussion between characters about the murder car's navigation system and boy, wasn't that one just filled with brain scratching excitement!  Prius strikes again!

Suburgatory's offense was especially egregious because it's only about a 25 minute or so show, taking away the normal commercials. Watching Tessa fawning over her Surface tablet was just aggravating. As she said the word 'tablet' and  listed all the wonderful features, I just looked at my own broken but awesome laptop and we rolled our eyes.

Enough of that though, I'll be posting a full 'rant' later regarding bad ad-show integration later.

Still working on that D.E.B.S. review and still working to get this blog into a more professional shape. There's more leaves folks, this time in the backyard, you know, where the dog likes to leave his presents for the family and Christmas is coming so there's sure to be quite the minefield awaiting me, my trusty rake, and my not so friendly tarp.

Somebody gotz to do it though so here I go!

In the meantime, I guess I'll share some links people with their shit together.

Audio Play: Neverwhere  This is...something out of my dreams. No words can express the immense feelings of pure utopia that is my mind at the moment...

MLP Comic Is Good and I really need it for Christmas!

Season 5 is Merlin's Last Wow. I strangely do not care one bit. You see, you can only sustain a show so long on plots that depend on no one trusting Merlin to do anything besides dressing his one true love king despite proving otherwise time and time again! Also, seeing every female character in the show become evil or dead is not enjoyable. That's just me.

Obligatory Dinosaur Link!

There you go, not much today because I have to go do nearly 2 hours of leaves but I'll be back!

Unless the squirrels get me while vulnerable...

Afternoon Links

Currently I'm working on my first 'Raptor Review' where I'll...oh, you'll see. No point in spoiling the surprise now! As you can see, I'm still on the hunt for a professional appearance for the blog. So, while I'm busy fiddling and moving the furniture around, here's a few afternoon links.

  • Mortal Instruments Trailer Because, you know, Twilight is nearly dead (Forevers I hope). Read two of the books in this series with my friend Heather and actually found them to be somewhat entertaining. From this trailer, it looks like the movie promises to be as equally as enjoyable. Hey, it has Jared Harris! That's got to be a good thing right?! Seeing as how the movie is being released on my birthday...I might be compelled to see it (part birthday induced silliness, part in wanting to see how the gay character from the book is portrayed in a movie)

  • Guillermo Del Toro's The Strain I admit, I haven't been able to read the books this series is based on but I love me some GDT and will always try something that isn't a damned reality television so I'm excited and hopeful. The series was first mentioned last month and it's nice to hear something about it again. I've recently (shamefully so) gotten into the super HAM sandwhich that is FX's American Horror Story and I can say for certain that they'll be little to no change to Hogan's and Toro's  very...sick addition to the vampire genre.

  • Waste To Fuel(?)  Cool. If we can make fuel from stuff that ISN'T food maybe we can avoid the higher prices of food. Fingers crossed.

  • Internet Strikes Again at Gendered Products In August, the company Bic produced pens geared to women. People of the interwebz joined forces and wrote hilarious reviews for the new, sleeker products. Now they're at it again, this time attacking an ad in Japan, featuring a pink Honda Fit. Oh, Internet, I love you.

Now excuse me,  there's still a carpet of leaves and an uncooked chicken staring at me.

Squirrely Truth

Squirrels man, they're everywhere in my yard, in every tree, every corner of the neighborhood. They laugh at me when I run with that horrid, un-squirrel-like laugh of their's. Oh, you may say they're cute and adorable or even that they're just dumb, rats with better hair but no, I know the truth.

Squirrels are beasts from another dimension, attempting world domination.

Deep down you know I'm right.

(The dogs know!)

Hekate7th was staring at the puddle of water forming outside the open freezer when the ice in the ice maker began singing.

Welcome to my humble blog! Basically, I created this thing to post my writing which will include some short stories, reviews of television shows, video games, books, and thoughts on daily news. In particular, I'll be focusing on LGBT issues in said media.

I'll also post links to other cool websites when the mood takes me so look forward to that. Please feel free to comment, especially when I post a short story, as I would really love some helpful criticism.
